The City of Mitcham virtual tour offers residents and visitors an immersive way to explore the council's facilities, parks, and historical sites. This interactive experience showcases key community assets and includes two dedicated history tours with audio descriptions, designed to replicate the in-person history walking tours offered by the council. A VR version of the tour has also been installed on dedicated headsets, available at local libraries and used at events and nursing homes to engage with the community.
In collaboration with the City of Mitcham, CloudTour developed a virtual tour to highlight the council's diverse facilities, public spaces, and historical locations. The goal was to create an engaging digital experience that allows users to navigate through community centres, parks, civic buildings, and significant historical sites while learning about the area's rich heritage.
The project utilised high-resolution 360-degree photography to authentically represent each location. Interactive elements, including audio descriptions for the history tours, provide users with in-depth insights into Mitcham’s past while allowing them to explore at their own pace. A VR version of the tour was also created, allowing for a more immersive experience.
